Spread the Word of God

"And [Jesus] said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things." Luke 24:46-48.

It is the duty of the disciples of Jesus Christ to obey his last command to preach the gospel, beginning in our hometown.  Northstar takes whatever opportunity we find to give out the gospel in our community, including visiting and public ministry, through tracting and street preaching.

Events and Outreach

Congregation Means Community

We have several special meetings a year to minister to our church family, and anyone who can join us. This includes anything from revival meetings, military bible study to family game nights in the winter.

We also host a church family camp every summer and a women's retreat every October.  Please get in touch with us for information on any of these ministries.

What We Believe

 God

We believe there is one true God (1 Timothy 2:5) We believe God is eternal and is personified

in three persons Father, Son, Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7)

Jesus Christ

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, we believe he was born through a virgin birth, he lived a sinless life, he was buried and rose again then ascended to the right hand of the Father. We also believe in Jesus Christ's return to take place in the future.

(Isaiah 7:14, 1 Timothy 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Acts 1:9-11)

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in those who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The evidence of a Christian filled with the Holy Spirit can be read in Galatians 5:22-23

Salvation

We believe in order for a lost person to be saved they must trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ that was completed on the cross and call upon the name of Jesus Christ to save them. We believe that salvation is "by grace through faith" and "not of works". (Romans 10:13, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5)

Eternal Security

We believe that in the church age dispensation in which we live that the Christian is eternally secure after salvation.

(Ephesians 4:30, Romans 6:23, John 6:37-40)

The Bible

We believe that the Authorized King James Version of the Bible is the pure, inspired, perfect word of God preserved as God promised in Psalms 12:6-7 (Proverbs 30:5, 2 Timothy 3:15-16)

The Church

We believe in two descriptions of the word "church" 1) The church as the body of Christ consisting of all who are saved (Ephesians 1:22-23)2) The church as a local assembly of believers

( This would be like the churches Paul wrote to in Romans 16:1, 1 Corinthians 1:2, 1 Thessalonians 1:1, etc.)

Heaven and Hell

We believe that Heaven and Hell are literal places. We believe that Hell consists of a place of literal fire which will burn for all eternity and is the destination for all those who do not receive Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Though Hell was created for the devil and his angels it is also the place in which a person will go if they reject Jesus Christ. We believe that heaven is a literal place reserved for those who receive Jesus Christ as their Savior.
